Lacemaking for Children

THIS section of The Lace Guild’s website is for beginners, especially young lacemakers. Some schools in England have recently shown interest in including lacemaking as part of the curriculum for Design and Technology (Textiles), Art and Design, or Industrial History. We particularly hope that the material here may be of use in this context.
Our current format is of an introductory pattern with illustrations showing different ways in which it can be used, and a reference section describing basic techniques. The pricking is included in a downloadable pdf file, which also contains the instructions in a form that will be more convenient to print out. We welcome any suggestions for making this section more appropriate to school curricula. Our e-mail address and a feedback form are on the Contact page.
